Dancing Queen

Hailey's dance recital at the end of June. This recital is always very impressive! This year she took tap and loved it, although she has informed me that she wants to do Jazz next year :)

Starlight Run

Hailey, Jackson, and I ran the Starlight Run last Saturday night. They did awesome and enjoyed high fiving the crowd. Jackson wanted to win the whole thing :) He is a little competitive, not sure where he gets that ;). I think this might become a new tradition.
PreRace- we were blessed to have our good friends do it with us. Thanks Dar and Luke :)
Last in line for face painting
Luke and Jack opted for balloon swords
It was so fun to see the kids so excited about doing this race. Thanks to Hailey for getting us to do this race.

Cute Hailey girl

So Hailey is a great daughter! She is so sweet, thoughtful, obedient, intelligent, hardworking, creative, I really could go on and on :). I really am not worthy to be her Mom but I feel so lucky to be :)
She has been begging me for some Mommy/Daughter time so yesterday we had a great time! We shopped, eat out and wait for it....got her ears pierced. This was not part of the original plan but she asked me if she could and i really did not see a reason why she couldn't so, the rest is history. I did check with Mike before just so he was okay with it too!
She looks terrified so of course I had to take a picture. She did great though, I will admit that I was a little worried that she might freak out.
Happier with her new October birthstone studs. She picked them out herself. She was too funny telling me that she wanted something small and not flashy. That's my girl!
Hailey no longer wants anything off the kids menu :) She is a foodie and loves to cook and bake. She was so happy with her giant shrimp pasta dish. There is still about 1/2 left and she had it for dinner tonight to. Gotta love the Cheesecake Factory!
In other news Hailey played lacrosse this year and really loved it. Her season ended last week and she is hoping to continue playing. I do love that they wear cute little skirts!

Disney

Over a month ago we had a fabulous time at Disneyland with our great friends the Clarkes. So many memories, so little pictures, story of my life. I need to be better about capturing moments but first I need to get a better camera. For your viewing pleasure...

Noah about to fight Darth Vader

Love Lily's face :)

Probably my favorite picture, so cute!
I should really blog more often so that I can remember all of the things that I want to blog about!

Christmas 2010

A Tale of 2 Trees
The Saturday after Thanksgiving we set out on our annual tree hunting adventure. We ended up at the same place we went last year because it is only 5 minutes from our house and after you pick out your tree they come and cut it down for you with a chainsaw. Mike really prefers this to cutting it himself, I tend to pick really tall trees with really big trunks. This year was no exception! So we get it home, and through the front door, and of course it is so big and heavy it will not stay up. After having it in the house all day I started to feel sick and get a really bad headache. I figured out it was from the tree. So out to the front yard it went. I posted on facebook that if anyone wanted a tree they could come and get it. It was gone within a couple of hours. So after trying to find a fake tree that was tall and having no luck we decided to give a real tree a second try. We got another huge tree but it was a different type and was pre-cut and no problems! So weird!!!!
Annual trip downtown to the Christmas tree, and to visit with Santa
Lily was not a huge Santa fan!
We Believe :)
Hailey and Jackson (he looks like a cute little elf :)
Making gingerbread houses. We made a huge mess but we had our own little human vacuum.
She is a cute vacuum :)
Jackson wanted to make sure that Mike got props for helping him :)
Hailey right before she played the piano on Christmas Eve. She did a great job and is quite the performer. No nerves!
Being the cute girl that she is, Hailey gave herself a Christmas mani/pedi.
Christmas Eve Jammies
Time for bed!
Santa came :)
Here they are waiting to come downstairs. Mike and I made a rule a couple of years ago that they could come get us at 8am. Amazingly it has worked so far!!
Sticky Bun breakfast
If that is not a happy face, I don't know what is!
Hailey asked Santa for a snowglobe, wish granted!
Yes there will be darts all over the house, thanks Santa!
Lily got it this year and had a lot of fun opening her presents.
Every year we get ornaments for our kids and each other that represent something about the year.
Hailey- cooking whisk ornament, she loves to cook!
Jackson-Oregon football ornament, he loves the Ducks!
Noah- Star Wars ornaments
Lily- elephant, her first animal noise
Mike- Car ornament, after 12 1/2 years Mike finally parted ways with the 1992 Camry with 275,000 miles on it and bought himself a new car
Steph-running shoe, no explanation needed :)
We had a great Christmas season!

Hailey's Sparkly Spa

So back at the beginning of November we finally had Hailey's b-day party after having to reschedule because we were all sick on the original date. Hailey's Sparkly Spa Party was a hit!
It is nice to have a sis-in law with a vinyl machine!
We had a manicure station. The paper saved the table from polish but not from the spilled nail polish remover :(
The craft station
The Glitter toe station

All set up for dinner. Hailey wanted to have a pasta bar.
Our friends own some massage chairs and were nice enough to let us borrow one. I set out a bowl full of $1 bills and the girls had a lot of fun.
When each girl arrived they were given a spa robe a flip flops. The robes were homemade and not very fancy but they got the idea :)
We did oatmeal and avocado masks with cool cucumbers for their eyes.
This was the cake, don't judge I know it needs help. Hailey insisted on making her own cake. Yes I helped but I tried not to be too much of a perfectionist. She loved it and that was all that mattered.
It was a fun party! It is hard to believe that she is already 9!
