I Survived!

So I know that you all have been sitting on the edge of your seats wondering if I was crazy enough to run the Portland marathon 2 weeks after my other marathon. I was and I am still alive to tell about it! I did indeed run the Portland marathon and qualified for Boston so now I have the option of running it in 2009 and 2010. I am very happy about that because that is the only reason that I did it. My body was definitely not fully recovered and my IT band on my left knee was hurting but I am glad I did it. It was a great day for a marathon! The temp was perfect, it started raining about 1/2 way thru but I actually enjoyed the rain, that is until I was done. At the point I was soaking wet and once I cooled down I was shivering.
Anyone crazy enough for Boston 2010? I will be there, love for you to join me!
Anyone who wants a full report go to http://www.marathonmommies.blogspot.com/ I will be posting my race report soon.

I am so proud of you. Exciting news about Boston - that's impressive! Congrats!! To answer your question, Mike is training for the Memphis, TN marathon (Mike liked that it was on Saturday - why are they all on Sunday? so annoying).

Hey...fellow runner from Idaho here. My name is Amanda and I found your post on Marathon Mommies blog. I am impressed with your quick recovery from the previous marathon. I didn't know how to contact your other than following the links to your personal blog. So if you get a minute I wanted to ask you about your training because you finished in my goal range. I am running the Richmond VA Marathon November 15 in hopes to make Boston. I will have only had 7 weeks of training behind my belt after an injury of three months...anyway too much info...congratulations on your hardwork. The accomplishment is in the training more than the race. stevens9history.blogspot.com or jscottstevens@msn.com

Holy Wow!!! That is incredible! You are my six year old son's hero. He is running the Vegas Marathon in December (well the last mile of it anyway). He has been running before school to make sure he has 25 miles behind his belt before the big day to finish the marathon. It is good for him to see that hard work pays off. Way to be an inspiration to others.
