BLAST from the past

17 years ago I was a freshman at BYU (yes I am getting old!!!)

17 years ago I met some amazing girls who have turned out to be amazing women!!!

A month ago I had the privilege of having a weekend away with some of them, it was a BLAST!!!!

It was as if we were back in U hall at Deseret Towers, as if time had never passed and it was awesome. We packed a lot into the weekend, didn't sleep much but it was worth every minute.

I have not laughed that much in a long time!! Too many to countMe and Jillyn-my roommate from freshman year. Love her!!!Beautiful view from that chairlift in Park City. We did the alpine slide and coaster. Note to self- do not wear a skirt next time!!!

1st and 3rd

The first day of school finally came! After getting back from SunRiver I think both the kids and I were ready for school to start!

So ready to go but of course I needed to take pictures! Jackson started first grade. He has the same teacher that Hailey did for first grade. I am happy to have Mrs. Abbott again. I so tried to convince him to get a regular backpack but he insisted on a messenger bag like Hailey.Hailey has always loved school and this year thus far is no exception!She got her glitter shoes :) I found these and needed her to have them so I actually had the salesman take them off a mannequin.We were lucky to have Grammy and Pa here visiting!Yeah for 1st grade!Let the learning begin!

Sisters are the best!

We went to the Lava Caves. It is about 45 degrees in there. Of course I was cold!We ventured to the lake and it was a cold day but the kids did not seem to care. At least for a little while.That is Hailey way up in the tree, she likes to keep up with the boys!We had a fabulous vacation, it was a great way to wrap up the summer!

Sand everywhere....

That can only mean a trip to the beach. A couple of weeks ago we took a day trip out to the beach, it is only about 70 minutes away so there are no excuses not to go. We stopped for lunch at Camp 18 because we have always wanted to and never have. It was lunch time but we had breakfast :)

Jackson begged for a cinnamon roll, it was gigantic and yummy!He was quite pleased with his food!What is this stuff?It did not take her long to warm up to the sand and start eating it too!Look at my dirty hands!Bury me!Forget this, it takes too long!Of course Mike brought wood and marshmallows, the kids loved roasting away. I admit I thought it was silly to bring these things and I had to eat my words.
